Wire walking specialists Kane Petersen and Jessica McCrindle share a body of work, a research, and a passion for ‘funabulism’ – the art of wire walking.
Kane and Jess have been performing Tightwire, and Highwire since training at the National Institute of Circus Arts (NICA) in 2002, under master trainers Arturo Gomez and Sergei Druzhina.
Since then they have been travelling around the country and abroad presenting wire at events, festivals, in circus shows, and as a spectacle to enthralled audiences.
Highlights include: NAFA Festival Highwire Spectacle; Adelaide Fringe highwire; Eureka Tower 300m Wire Stunt; Todd Sampson’s trainers for his daredevil finale skywalk stunt on Australian ABC TV series ‘Redesign my Brain’; and recreating an ‘Elephant walks a Highwire’ for Melbourne Luna Park’s 100 year anniversary celebrations.
They also regularly teach the skill of wire walking to beginners through to professionals at Youth Circuses, NICA, Private Masterclasses, and through the ‘Balance Park’.
